UK Visa office warns Gujarat students

UK Visa office has warned students of Gujarat against misleading advice from some agents while preparing documents for the student visa. It has said that British Deputy High Commission Mumbai has come to know that students in Gujarat are undergoing considerable trouble and expense to undertake verification of their documents on the misleading advice of some agents.

In a media release the High Commission has asked students not to be misled by incorrect advice from other sources. They should follow only official guideline. It has issued eight point guideline for the students seeking VISA for UK.

It is for the visa officer to decide whether a document requires verification, so please do not go to the expense or trouble of trying to get your documents verified before you submit your application.

Complete student visa application form fully and submit all original documents required. There is no cut- off date for student visas, so make sure that you have first assembled together all the papers you will need to support your application. You can submit your application up to 3 months in advance of your intended travel.

Please be aware that it is possible that your education provider's status on the sponsor's register may change between your visa being issued and you travelling to the UK. You are advised to check the sponsor's register atwww.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/employers/points/whatisthepointsbasedsystem/sponsoringstudents before you travel. If the education provider has been suspended, you are advised not to travel until its status has been resolved. If the education provider's licence has actually been withdrawn before you travel, your visa will be cancelled and you will not be permitted to enter the UK.

Please refer to the comprehensive Tier 4 guidance on student visas at www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/studyingintheuk. The published guidance is being applied consistently by the UK Border Agency's Visa Service at the British Deputy High Commission in Mumbai. No new rules are being applied.

Please do not submit forged documents or make false statements in your visa application, or allow others to do so on your behalf. Check your application form and documents before submitting them. False information and documents will lead to your visa being refused and the risk of a 10 year ban on travel to the UK.

Every visa application is considered on its individual merits, against the published Tier 4 guidance and Immigration Rules. If an application is refused, the full reasons are given. If you believe an error of fact has been made, then you can apply for an administrative review of the decision. If you believe that you can respond positively to the reasons for refusal, it is open to you to submit a new visa application.

You do not need an agent to make a student visa application. The visa application forms can be down-loaded from web sites www.vfs-uk-in.com;www.ukvisas.gov.uk or obtained from the VFS visa application centres.

If you would like additional assistance with your visa application, please choose your agent carefully. An agent cannot guarantee to get you a visa - only a visa officer makes the decision to issue a visa. If an agent charges fees, these must be reasonable.
